Leanin.Org Suddenly Finds Money For One Paid Internship

on the Leanin.org intern story.

This week's public storm over Sheryl Sandberg's Leanin.org's posting of an opportunity to work gratis for the organization has led to some reconsideration of the offer at the women's empowerment nonprofit. Since the story broke, Leanin.org somehow found money to create a paid internship position, according to a piece in today's New York Times.

Times writer Vindu Goel left the best observation for last:

No word yet on how much the new internship will pay, but odds are that it will be less than the $6,000 or so a month that engineering interns at Facebook generally make.
