Dr. Mark Dean (photo), who holds three of the nine patents on the original PC, noted in a recent blog post that the machine is no longer a leading innovative tool. His observation was noted in a BBC story that appeared today.For the IBM engineer, the PC's passing is a matter of some poignance. "When I helped design the PC," he wrote, "I didn't think I'd live long enough to witness its decline." His primary computer, he pointed out, is now a tablet.
