According to a story posted in the financial blog
zerohedge.com, Arizona legislators recently passed a motion that would permit gold and silver coins to be used as legal tender in the Grand Canyon State. If that law becomes officially on the books, then Arizona will return to its Wild West days, in which a dusty cowboy could purchase "whusky" with coin made from precious metals. I wonder if a gold-bearing, God-fearing Arizonan would accept paper money as change when they buy something with their gold or silver currency? Maybe they just don't believe the "In God We Trust" on the Washington-backed dollars.
